One step forward towards more attractive next-to-metropolitan regions

Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is situated close to metropoles such as Berlin, Hamburg or Szczecin, which is not always an advantage for the region, e.g. when important businesses and workers emigrate to the nearby metropoles. Which solutions are there to win people, knowledge and capital for the next-to-metropolitan Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and to hold them in the region?

Next2Met makes it possible for us to exchange with other Next2Met regions in Europe to share the best regional digitalisation measures with each other. Such digitalisation measures can support the Next2Met-regions to become more attractive to businesses and workers. In the framework of Next2Met we can adapt and adopt innovative measures of the Next2Met-partners in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and share our best practices with our partners across Europe.

Soft digitalisation measures

In Next2Met we don't plan to exchange on "hard" technological digitalisation measures, but rather on "soft" digitalisation measures. What are "soft" digitalisation measures?

Soft digitalisation measures support beyond technology. Services in all sectors of digitalisation are expected to make digital offers more accessible, strengthening digital participation in Next2Met-regions.

You can find soft digitalisation measures from the Next2Met-partnership here.

Project partnership

Partners from all over Europe enable the exchange on soft digitalisation measures:

  • Barcelona Provincial Council, Spain
